Synopsis

The COVID-19 lockdown may have left many stranded, but actors Sam Crane and Mark Oosterveen decided to turn its bleakness into possibility. This is the result of their labour – not only did they attempt (and succeeded!) to stage an adaptation of Shakespeare's infamous play in the world of the videogame Grand Theft Auto, but they also made a film out of it. This desktop documentary is unlike anything you've seen before, you're in for a wild ride in Los Santos and a front row seat at the reinvention of cinematic language. "To be or not to be?": Hamlet's ask is rendered even more poetic in a virtual world of violence and vulnerabilities.
