Adapted from Ludwig Bemelman’s hugely successful children’ book series, Madeline (1998) tells the story of young orphan Madeleine (Hatty Jones) who resides at a Parisian boarding school. Cared for by the loving but stern nun, Miss Clavel (Frances McDormand), Madeline fights to save her school from being closed down by the mean Lord Covington (Nigel Hawthorne) and finds herself on an adventure full of mischief, peril and fun. Starring Hatty Jones, Frances McDormand and Nigel Hawthorne, Madeline (1998) is entertainment for all the family.
